Posted On: 10/10/2021 I cannot recommend Dr. Cristoforo and the whole team at Dental Implant and Periodontal highly enough! Let's all be real...dental surgery is not a fun thing. I was referred here by my dentist in Sun Prairie. They told me it's not the closest to my home, but the drive is definitely worth it to get the best. I totally agree that the drive was worth it! I've had two hip surgeries in the past year and have delivered four children, so I'm familiar with surgeons, surgical procedures and pain. Dr. Cristoforo was friendly, professional, efficient and took the time to make me feel comfortable with the procedure before, during and after the surgery. I had to have my gums replaced in two different places. One location was a good candidate for cadaver tissue, but the other required tissue from the roof of my mouth. In both situations, the most uncomfortable part was the initial shots to numb the areas. I've had cavities filled before, so I knew what to expect from that process and Dr. Cristoforo did a great job making that as pleasant as possible. The actual surgery to remove the tissue and sew the new gums on was quick and painless. Recovery has been pretty easy. Eating was a bit tricky the first couple days while things were touchy and swollen but each day it got better. I felt very supported during recovery by the checkup appointments and also by the information provided for home care. The nurses and office staff were all very helpful and friendly as well. They were careful to help me make appointments that worked with my schedule. During the surgery the nurse was very efficient and worked smoothly with Dr. Cristoforo. You can feel the level of comradery and respect while you are there watching them work together. I will most likely have to have another gum surgery in a different location in the next couple years. I will for sure be heading right back to Dr. Cristoforo and his staff when that time comes! Pamela S
